The RSMA has five types of membership available
- Contractor
- Manufacturer
- Supplier
- Associate
- Honorary
Contractor Membership is for those companies or individuals who actively apply or install traffic safety markings, studs, products, or works.
Manufacturers are companies, firms, or persons who are actively engaged in the manufacture and/or supply of materials and products directly used as traffic safety markings (products or works), or the equipment used in the application, installation, or provision of traffic safety markings, products, or works.
Suppliers are companies, firms, or persons who are actively engaged in the supply of raw materials or services, indirectly used in traffic safety for markings, products, or works.
Associates shall be other bodies with objects compatible with those of the Association, as approved from time to time by the Executive Committee.
Honorary shall be those persons or organisations, nominated by the Executive Committee and approved by an Association AGM, to hold the title Honorary Member RSMA, in recognition of their contribution to the development of the UK road marking industry.
To join the association, the following information is required:
- Contracting members must operate (and provide to RSMA evidence of such) in accordance with relevant industry standards, with a minimum of accreditation to the National Highways Sector Scheme No.7.
- Copy of Health and Safety Policy
- Evidence of adequate Insurance Provision
- Evidence of demonstrable Trading Record
- Signed RSMA Training Commitment Form
A non-returnable application fee of £300+vat is required on submission of your completed application form.
On receipt, your application will be forwarded to the Association's Executive Committee for consideration; this ensures prospective members meet the standards we expect of a member of the RSMA.
It is a Sector Scheme that has been developed as a bespoke, integrated management system within the ISO 9001 framework to provide specific requirements/applications for ISO 9001:2015, as applicable to a particular infrastructure-related activity/industry within the United Kingdom.
Sector Scheme 7 is for the application of Road Marking Materials and Road Studs to Paved Surfaces.
