The RSMA visits Northern Ireland

In April the Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA) hosted its first ever seminar and dinner dedicated to its members in Northern Ireland. The aim of the event was to bridge the gap between the RSMA and its Northern Ireland members, who, due to distance, might have been unable to attend previous events. Here at the RSMA we want to ensure all our members feel included and that their voices are heard, which is why it was important for us to dedicate the time to listening to our members in Northern Ireland

The day was a fantastic opportunity to discuss the latest industry legislation as well as new training opportunities and recent RSMA news, including our new whitepaper on edge lines which launched last month. The event also acted as a networking opportunity for the road marking industry in Northern Ireland, enabling people to develop new connections and discuss issues affecting the industry.

Alongside a presentation by the chief executive of the RSMA Rob Shearing, the day also featured presentations from members of the industry who gave up their time to speak at the event. Topics varied from training opportunities with CITB to road marking innovation.

We had some great presentations and would like to thank:

  • Stephen Bradshaw from the Department for Infrastructure
  • Rachel Dorovatas from CITB NI
  • Owen Duffy from Transport Infrastructure Ireland
  • Glenn Shelby Smith from Kestrel Thermoplastics
  • Joe Turley from RetroTek Road Condition Assessment Systems
  • Kieran Laverie from the RSMA’s Training Team

This was our first time hosting an event like this, and thanks to the incredible feedback from members who attended, it is something we hope to do more of in the future.
