Course Description

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended) establish a clear hierarchy of measures for dealing with risks from manual handling. Manual handling is described as the transportation or supporting of a load by hand or bodily force. This training will assist delegates in understanding their legal obligations, and instruct them in useful manual handling techniques such as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling.

Manual handling injuries can happen anywhere, anytime in the workplace or in day to day life. Heavy manual labour, awkward postures, manual lifting, and previous or existing injury are risk factors in developing Muscular-Skeletal Disorders (MSD).
